Join us this Lenten Season with: “40 Days of Prayer”
When we read about the great men and women in the Bible and study the lives of the people that God used throughout history to do great things in His Kingdom, we find a common thread. They were all people of prayer! Jesus made prayer His first priority, knowing that His communion with God was the source of His daily strength and power. Our founder, John Wesley, rightly observed, “God does nothing but by prayer.” Most Christians today would confess that their personal prayer lives are somewhat anemic and seriously lacking. Let’s change that! Let’s become not only people who pray, but a church that prays!
Starting Sunday, February 14th we will begin an all-church journey through Lent focusing on deepening our prayer lives. Using Rick Warren’s, “40 Days of Prayer”, we will combine study and practice as we develop and expand this important part of growing in Christ, deepening our relationship with our Heavenly Father, and releasing the power of the Holy Spirit!
We’re asking each person, (or couple, or family) to purchase the “40 Days of Prayer” Workbook ($12.99 plus s/h) that will give you daily “prayer prompts”, places to take notes and guide you through our 40 days together. Early each week you will watch a special teaching on prayer by Pastor Rick on YouTube (we will send you the link each week), or you may purchase the “40 Days Workbook and Study DVD” ($28.99 + s/h). You should view Rick’s weekly teaching before the Wednesday group meeting.
Every Wednesday, we will gather together (via Zoom) to share and discuss what we‘re learning from both the Sunday message and Rick’s teaching each week. (If you are part of an existing small group, stay as a group and go through this weekly study together at your regular meeting time. If you prefer not to join the Wednesday night study group, follow along by watching the weekend message along with Rick’s teaching and answer the questions in your Workbook.) All resources can be ordered at: Pastors.com. Please register with our office so we can email news, links, etc.
